My four marathons in four weeks
My four marathons in four weeks ,completed with unmemorable performance which I set PR at Taipei marathon,but most important that I think I enjoy it,no pressure ,injury free,the PR is not so important for me,if I just aiming for better and better results in full marathons,sure I will not so enjoy the fun of marathon or running.
I didn't plan it,believe me,I just set target to finish all four marathons within 5 hours,run easy,enjoy it,especially I plan if I feel difficulty to continue,I will slow now and take photo for friends,and snap some situation of the race,if you meet me in marathon ,don't surprise I may snap your race photo.
You may question me how I face this 4 marathons,honestly,I didn't train much,the only LSD is every sunday which I train with my friends at Double hills,thanks for PACM to have regular sunday morning training,it make me no boring and no worry about my race.Other than that,due to commitment of work,I just can do 10km or 15km around my housing area.I didn't have time to do more than that.
For my first marathon in Bangkok on 28 November,lucky I have Jenny Lim to accompany,a season top women marathon runner in our country,I gain a lot of benefit from her advice,I finished with 4 hours 52 minutes ,I toke out my camera after 39km ,about 10 minutes,I continute again towards finishing.It was nice,cause I achieve my first target within 5 hours.
The other reason why I went for Bangkok marathon is the start of the Bangkok marathon is on 3.30am,it is fresh for me ,cause you can't find a marathon start such as early as 3.30am.
For the second marathon,Singapore marathon on 5 December,I enjoy much ,cause I join with PACM group for race in first time,a lot of friends in same group,have chat,change opinion,and have meal together,it is so exciting,less your pressure.
But the heat in race day,it is so suffer...I decide not to fight all out,after 31km ,I toke out my camera to snap photos for my friends,PACM members and others...especially I can stop and ask official to help me toke my photos,it was so nice I can enjoy like that,even I met a lot of friends in last 10km,they are so suffer and fight for the finishing,I realise I need to help them ,make them happy and unforgottenable ,so I snap their photos.
Tough I finished with out of my sub 5 hours target,finished with 5 hours 15 minutes,but it is nice ,avoid too stress and injury free for my next two marathons in Taiwan.
I enjoy very much in 13days trip in Taiwan,not only two marathons,but a lot of local running friends so kindly help me in lodging,transport and meal also,plus travel trip,even I need to face everyday morning training,it is ok for me,I was surprise,cause everyday wherever I stayed,the local running friends will ask me to run with them,atleast 1 hour,some is about nearly 2 hours,most tough is visit Taruko national park ,3 days before Taipei marathon,I cycling up the hill road for 3 hours,and turn back only for 1 hour,my leg is so tired,but I manage to do it,and I think it help me a lot to get good results in Taipei marathon.
The weather for Taipei marathon is so nice,about 19 degree celcius,cloudy,even during the race face little raining,but overall it is good place to achieve good results ,base on my watch,I manage to finished it in 4 hours 13 minutes.
Taipei marathon have some weak point need to improve,like that they let 16,000 runners from full ,half and 9km event start all together,it is traffic jam on the early stage,and starting time is 7am,make the traffice so jam,a lot of drivers so angry about this situation,some of them even didn't take care of safty of runners,ask police to let them get through.
This is the first time Taipei marathon using championchip ,so,the organiser less experience,didn't put scanning at half way or every 10km,only gave the ribbon at half and 31akm turning point.
From what I learn and test their tips ,like using the "swan mei powder " and eat some salt to prevent cramp ,their consistency training,their food after the race,like a big family ,a lot of their senior friend's wife also running in half or full,and their children run in half and 9km run,it is prove that running is no age different....!!
May running and marathon will help you ,or change your life to a better quality ,either health or happiness.....!!
