TNEC is a four (4) day climbing race that will be organized according to appropriate and recognized rules, regulations and conditions particularly for the similar type of other recreational sports.

The challenge is open to all individuals of 18 year old and above from public and corporations who have passion and courage to recreational sports. The participants are required to form their own team consisting of 4 team members.

A 130 Million-year Old Wonder Taman Negara is Malaysia’s premier park and the largest in the country. It covers an area of approximately 4,343 square kilometers of primary Tropical Rain Forests estimated at more than 130 million years old. The park was established for the sole purpose of protecting and preserving the flora and fauna indigenous to the area. Located within the park is Peninsular Malaysia’s highest peak, the Gunung Tahan, standing tall at 2,187 meters above sea level.


Activities

Stage 1: Relau River – Padang Camp
Participants in groups will start racing by running from Relau River starting point and will run through Mount Tahan route. One (1) minute gap is allocated in between one group to another for them to start running. The participants are expected to arrive at Checkpoint 1 in approximately 18 hours with total distance of 44.4 kilometers.

Stage 2: Padang Camp – Melantai Camp
From Padang Camp, the participants will continue the race by running through designated routes of Mount Gedung , Wray Camp, Teku camp and will end at Melantai Camp. This stage covers the distance of 34 kilometers and will take up an approximate total hours of 16.

Stage 3: Melantai Camp – Kuala Terenggan – Nusa Camp – Kuala Tahan
Stage 3 will require the participants to start from the ending point of previous race day to reach Kuala Terenggan. From there, the participants will compete by rafting through Tembeling River and its adventurous torrents and are required to reach Nusa Camp before running again to Kampung Kuala Tahan. All routes of this day 3 race cover 30 kilometers race with estimated time of 13 hours approximately.
