50km Ultra Marathon 50公里超級馬拉松 7.9.07

Hi,to celebrate anniversary 10 years of Persatuan Larian Jarak Jauh Kedah Utara and to promote for Visit Malaysia,we organise this 50 kilometres ultra marathon for all runners.We hope to provide this oppurtunity for runners to challenge themselves and to promote long distance running in this area.

Below is the rule and detail of this ultra marathon and attach with entry form and map.

Facilities on race day:12 water station,2 food/fruits station,1 music station and 1 medical station.Finishing point will serve different of foods for runners,enough carpark,toilet etc.

Gunung Keriang Recreation Park
This elephant shape mountain that seems to have emerged in the middle of a flat paddy land is a good place for activities such as climbing, trekking, caving and

also for crystal hunting (famous of crystal deposits).

The history (legend) of Gunung Keriang is quite an interesting one.

It is reputed to be alive and rotates every year. The British colonialists called it Elephant Hill because it is shaped like a standing elephant

You can even bring your family along to enjoy the beautiful view. Just 10 minutes drive from downtown Alor Setar it is very accessible. Gua Keriang, a cave located nearby is also worth checking out. Also located in the vicinity, is the Padi Museum.

Getting There

By Road

From Kuala Lumpur, take the North South Expressway (NSE), heading north towards Kedah and take the Alor Setar Selatan exit (Interchange 177) into Alor Setar which is about 4km from this NSE exit.

Gunung Keriang Park is located about 10km from Alor Setar and is accessible by bus or taxi.
